CXE Advantage

Century Extrusion strives to deliver maximum value through intense focus on industry standard designs, reliability and aftermarket sales and support services.

Industry Standard Design and Processing Section
The Century Extrusion CXE series standard and high speed/high torque models utilize the world’s most common twin screw geometry.

The CXE series design incorporates the industry standard 1.55 Do/Di ratio allowing customers to take advantage of the Century Extrusion value proposition without shouldering the high costs of qualifying a new process section geometry.

The 1.55 Do/Di ratio is optimized for torque and free volume. This design feature provides maximum capacity for those applications limited by available horsepower and/or free volume (i.e. those applications feeding low bulk density powder) for a given screw diameter.

Scalability
CXE series extruders are designed for scalability by maintaining a constant diameter ratio across our entire machine range. The shear history is identical at the same screw speed for every machine size and ensures effortless scale-up for products developed and established using the industry standard 1.55 platform. Designing around these geometric dimensions results in process sections which are fully interchangeable with (ZSK) machines having the same diameter ratio and centerline distances. This strategy provides customers with zero technological risk, for example, when transferring products already qualified on ZSK geometry.
