Twin Screw Extruder Cold-Formed Shafts

With the advent of high speed, high torque applications, the shaft has become one of the most critical components contributing to machine reliability. The load requirements for shafts have increased substantially over the past decade. Traditionally splined shafts have been manufactured utilizing a metal removal process. Shafts made from this process are not able to withstand the torque requirements of today’s high speed, high torque machines.

Century Extrusion utilizes cold-forming (hammer splining) technology to ensure the most torque resistant shaft geometry available. In addition, working with leading global steel suppliers, Century Extrusion has developed shaft materials with the highest quality and torque carrying capability available.
